22 Feb - Houston

(Sorry this is so late)

Hey!
This week was another great week of working hard and being obedient. We had a great week. 21 sitdowns and got our 10 OYMs (Open your mouths; i.e., talking to people). Elder Greenwood is awesome and we have a good time doing missionary work.

This sunday we have a baptism! It is going to be really cool. She is a very nice lady and she has a testimony. I love being a missionary and sharing the gospel with people. It is fun to talk to everyone I see. Even when sometimes when I am in my basketball clothes after a nice game of ball on P-day; I will go and talk to people and get to know them and stuff. It is pretty awesome!

Sounds like everyone is doing great. I want to give a shout out to all my friends for their support and letters. A special Shout out goes to Pradip! it was nice to here from ya!!! keep up the good work with everything!

Umm, I am trying to think of whats going on or what is new. I like speaking Spanish, I am really starting to get a feel for it I think. The other day this nice older lady asked me where I was from and I said California and she was like oh really? So, do you have your papers? I was like yea, I was born there and she was like oh how good. haha I don't know it was funny. A lot of people think I am from South America. I don't know why. This one member keeps on asking me where I am from and stuff.

I think the funniest comment was are those teeth yours? There so pretty hahah.

Anyway I am glad to be here. I am grateful to have a living prophet here on the earth. I am grateful for the guidance we can receive from him. I am grateful that God is our loving heavenly father and he loves us so much that he called a prophet named Joseph Smith to restore his Church. I am grateful for a living prophet today named Thomas S. Monson and I am grateful for the guidance that he has given me in my life.
You are all the best!

15 Feb - Houston

Hey y'all

A new rule has come out here in the Texas Houston South Mission. Yes, it's true, all missionaries are supposed to part their hair. It is pretty interesting because I remember when I was little hating it when Dad would load my hair up with hairspray and part it. Except I don't use hairspray to part it like Dad does, I use gel. But yea, it is pretty cool seeing all the Elders with parted hair though.

This week was pretty good. I don't really know what to say. We have been trying to be more and more obedient and work our hardest everyday!

To answer some of the questions, we live with a member. His name is Lars and he is a really cool guy. He knows how to do pretty much about anything. Today he busted out a brick wall in the house and it was cool. He also loves to complete puzzles and when he finishes one he glues it and hangs it on the wall. They are pretty cool and from far away they look like legit pictures. He is awesome!

We also have a Spanish ward here and everyone is awesome! We have a great bishop and the members here are awesome. I love everything about this place. Downtown Houston is close to us, but we are in a car area which means we only have to ride our bikes if we have been using too many miles and stuff. I love everything about the new place and you all are the best thanks for all the letters!!!

Houston - Feb 1, 2010

Hey Everyone!

Guess what I was transferred to the city! Woohoo. It is really awesome here and the people are really nice. My area is called Houston 1 West. I have another awesome missionary companion. His name is Elder Green Wood. He is from Seattle Washington and likes to breakdance. It is fun and we get along great!

He doesn't know very much Spanish and I don't know very much Spanish. So guess what. We both have to talk and learn. I think my Spanish ability has pretty much tripled since I have been here. Haha I am really starting to get it I think. But I know it wasn't on my own. I have been studying hard everyday and we have been praying for help with Spanish to understand it and to speak it. I have very grateful for this chance I have to learn Spanish so I can communicate to these people here and share with them about something that is very important to me.

I am very grateful for the chance I have to share with people about our heavenly father. I know that he loves us and loves everybody. In the ancient times he called prophets to lead and guide his church and to share with the prophet the things we need to do to be blessed and receive happiness in our lives. I know that God was the same yesterday and is the same today and will be the same tomorrow. I know that he wouldn't just call a prophet for the people in the ancient times. and I know that he has called a prophet for us in these times and his name is Thomas S. Monson. I know that he receives revelation from God and that he shares those things with us today.

I love you all! My new address is
9619 High Meadow Dr.
Houston, TX 77063
